Speakers:  

1) Kirk Bailey from Abundant Solar has worked in technical fields as varied as system software development for parallel supercomputers, millimeter-wave thin-film hybrid repair, and factory automation for the disk drive and wood  products industries.  He began his professional involvement in solar electric systems in the 1980's by designing and deploying battery-backed  systems for remote scientific data acquisition systems.  His involvement with grid-tied solar electric systems began in 2003 when he  installed a modest system on his home in Corvallis.  Since then he has been involved in the design and sales efforts for more than 500 solar clients, including thermal, grid-tied electric, grid-tied electric with battery backup, and completely off-grid systems.  

2) Sylvan Pritchett is a recent graduate from the OSU department of Forest Ecosystems and Society in the College of Forestry.  He specializes in Urban Forestry and is currently working as an Outreach Specialist for the City of Corvallis Urban Forestry Program. Sylvan's topic is fire resistant landscaping.
